About the Santan Prapti Puja with Pandit Ji

For couples hoping to start a family, the weeks around a puja can already feel heavy. They should not also have to work out the sequence, the items or the right person to lead it. A pandit takes the vidhi off your hands so you can sit for it quietly.

Families traditionally hold puja to Krishna as Santan Gopal, to Shiva-Parvati or to other deities as a way of devotion when they hope for a child. Which deity and mantras are used varies by family and region. It is a ritual of faith and not a substitute for medical care.

Couples hoping to start a family who wish to hold a devotional puja; families following an elder's or guru's advice; couples who include puja alongside medical guidance.

Families differ. Some choose specific tithis, Janmashtami or Mondays. Your pandit can suggest muhurat options for your date and city, and your family's custom or astrologer's advice takes priority.

About 1.5 hours for the standard ceremony; about 2 hours for the extended one.

Choose the standard for a simple, quiet puja. Choose the extended one if your family follows a fuller vidhi.

Choose 'With samagri' and the pandit brings the ritual items. Choose 'Own samagri' if you already have them or prefer to buy them yourself; the pandit can share a list before the day.

Traditionally the couple sits for the puja, though families decide. Other family members are welcome to join for the aarti and prasad.

The puja uses a lit diya. Keep it on a stable surface away from curtains and children. If you choose to fast, follow your doctor's advice first.
