About

About the Office Puja with Pandit Ji

Opening a new office means a long list, and the pooja is one more thing to get right: the muhurat, the samagri, the order of the vidhi. A pandit leads the ritual, so you can welcome your team and guests without worrying about the details.

Many families and business owners mark a new workplace, a new financial year or Diwali with a pooja to Ganesha and Lakshmi, often with worship of account books and tools of the trade. It is a traditional way of beginning a venture with intention and thanking the people involved. The format varies by community and business.

Owners opening a new office, shop or clinic; teams moving into a new space; businesses who hold a pooja at the start of the financial year or at Diwali.

Many choose a muhurat from the panchang, often in the morning, and some prefer Diwali or the start of a financial year. Your pandit can suggest muhurat options. Your custom takes priority.

About 1 hour for either ceremony.

Start with the standard. If you want something different, such as a havan, ask us and the pandit will advise.

Choose 'With samagri' and the pandit brings the ritual items. Choose 'Own samagri' if you already have them or prefer to buy them yourself. The Vedic Rituals New Office Pooja Kit packs the essentials in ritual order if you want to arrange samagri yourself.

The owners or partners, usually with the team. Staff and guests can join for the aarti and prasad.

Marwari, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali and South Indian businesses each have their own order, and some include Shaligram, Saraswati or the family deity. Tell us your community and language at booking.

If your pooja includes a diya, incense or havan, keep it on a stable, heat-safe surface away from paper, curtains and electronics, and keep water nearby. Check your building's rules on open flames.

How long should I plan for? About 1 hour, plus a little time to set up.

Can we do it for an existing office? Yes. Many businesses hold it at Diwali or at the start of a financial year.

Is a havan required? Not always. Some offices cannot allow an open flame. Ask the pandit for options.

Do we need to bring our account books? Many traditions include them. Keep them ready on a clean surface if yours does.

Can the pandit follow our community's custom? Yes, where possible. Share your custom at booking.
