About

About the Baglamukhi Puja with Pandit Ji

A Baglamukhi puja is a long ritual with multiple pandits, and families often don't know how to arrange it. A pandit team leads the invocation, pooja and chanting, so you can attend without worrying about the vidhi.

Baglamukhi is one of the ten Mahavidyas and is often shown in yellow. A Baglamukhi puja is a longer devotional ritual that includes invocation, pran pratishtha, offerings and mantra chanting. Families choose it as devotion, often under a guru's guidance. It is not presented as a fix for any particular problem.

Devotees of Goddess Baglamukhi; families whose guru or tradition includes her worship; people who want a full-format puja with several pandits.

Families often choose a Tuesday, Navratri or a muhurat from their astrologer or guru. Your pandit can suggest options for your date and city. If your family has its own custom, that takes priority.

About 5 hours for the standard ceremony; about 7.5 hours for the extended one.

Choose the standard for a full puja at a manageable length. Choose the extended if your guru or family follows the longer format.

Choose 'With samagri' and the pandit brings the ritual items. Choose 'Own samagri' if you already have them or prefer to buy them yourself.

Video may be possible for this puja, but it is long and uses four pandits, so it needs confirming with us first. Tell us at the time of booking.

The head of the household or the person on whose behalf the puja is done, with family joining as they like.

Mantras, offerings and the colour of items vary by tradition and by guru. If you have your guru's instructions, tell us when you book.

A diya or lamp is an open flame. Keep it on a stable surface, away from curtains, children and pets, and never leave it unattended.

How long does it take? About 5 hours for the standard and about 7.5 hours for the extended, plus set-up.

Why do many families wear yellow? Yellow is widely associated with Goddess Baglamukhi, but practice varies.

How is this different from the Homam? The puja is the longer devotional ritual with four pandits and extended chanting, while the homam is a shorter fire ritual.

Do we need an initiation first? Some traditions prefer it. Check with your guru and tell the pandit.

Can we do it online? It may be possible, but the long format needs confirming with us first.
