About

About the Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivaran Puja with Pandit Ji

Families who hear about Kaal Sarp in a chart reading often struggle to know what the ritual involves and who should lead it. Two pandits lead the ceremony with the vidhi in order, so you can follow along and take part.

In Jyotish, Kaal Sarp refers to a chart in which the planets sit between Rahu and Ketu. The traditional ritual offers prayers to Shiva and to the Naga deities, with a havan, as a way of marking the occasion. It is a traditional practice, not a guarantee of any outcome.

Families whose astrologer has suggested the ritual; people who want a traditional Naga and Shiva ritual at home; households who prefer a longer, more detailed vidhi.

Many families choose a day linked to Nag Panchami, a Monday or an Amavasya, but customs vary, and some travel to places like Trimbakeshwar. For chart-based questions we suggest speaking to your family's astrologer. The pandit can suggest muhurat options.

About 3 hours for the standard ceremony; about 4.5 hours for the extended one.

If you want a shorter ritual with the core steps, start with the standard. If your astrologer or elders advise the fuller ritual, choose the extended ceremony.

Choose 'With samagri' and the pandit brings the ritual items. Choose 'Own samagri' if you already have them or prefer to arrange them yourself; the pandit can share the list in advance.

A live video version may be possible for Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivaran Puja, but it is a long or large-format ritual, so it needs confirming with us before you book.

The person the ritual is for and close family. Traditionally the household head sits for the main rituals, but families decide this.

The sequence, the deities and the place of the ritual vary by tradition and astrologer. Share any instructions from your astrologer when you book.

This ritual involves an open flame (havan or diya). Use a stable heat-safe surface, keep the space ventilated, keep water nearby, and keep flames away from curtains, children and pets. Follow your building's rules on havan in common areas.

Will this remove Kaal Sarp dosh? We do not make that claim. The ritual is a traditional offering, and chart-based questions are best discussed with your family's astrologer.

Why are there 2 pandits? The ritual has many parts, and a second pandit helps with the recitations and havan.

How long should I plan for? About 3 hours for the standard ceremony and about 4.5 hours for the extended one.

Can it be done on video? It may be possible, but it is a long ritual, so please confirm with us before booking.
