About the Shani Shanti Puja with Pandit Ji

A Shani shanti puja is a longer ritual with mantras, offerings and a havan, and families rarely know all the details. Two pandits lead the ceremony, so the sequence runs smoothly and you can sit for it.

Shanti pujas are traditionally held to pacify or honour a graha in Jyotish. A Shani shanti puja usually includes Shani mantras, abhishek and a havan. Families choose it on their astrologer's advice or as a ritual of devotion; it does not promise any outcome.

Families whose astrologer advises a Shani shanti; people going through a period flagged in their chart, such as Sade Sati or Dhaiya; those who prefer a fuller ritual than a short Shani puja.

Many families choose Saturdays, Shani Jayanti or Amavasya, but your astrologer's advice takes priority. Your pandit can suggest muhurat options for your date and city. For chart-based questions, please consult your family astrologer.

About 3 hours for the standard ceremony; about 4.5 hours for the extended one.

Choose the standard if your astrologer has suggested a Shani shanti without a specific count. Choose the extended one if they have asked for a longer jaap or fuller vidhi.

Choose 'With samagri' and the pandit brings the ritual items. Choose 'Own samagri' if you already have them or prefer to buy them yourself; the pandit can share a list before the day.

The person or family for whom the puja is held, with others welcome to join. Plan for both pandits to have space to sit.

Havan involves an open flame. Use a stable heat-safe surface, keep the space ventilated, keep water nearby, and keep flames away from curtains, children and pets. Follow your building's rules.

How long should I plan for? About 3 hours for the standard ceremony and about 4.5 hours for the extended one, plus a little time to set up.

What is the difference between this and Shani Dosh Nivaran Puja? Both are Shani pujas. This one is a fuller ceremony with two pandits. Which one suits you depends on your astrologer's advice.
