About the Durga Saptshati Path with Pandit Ji

The Durga Saptashati is a long text, and families often wonder how it is read, how long it takes and who should recite. A pandit takes charge of the paath and the supporting rituals, so you do not have to manage the details.

The Durga Saptashati, also known as the Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path, is a text of about 700 verses in praise of Durga, read by many families during Navratri. It is traditionally done as a devotional recitation. Formats range from a single sitting to nine days.

Families who observe Navratri and read the Saptashati; households marking a family occasion with the paath; devotees who follow a Shakta practice.

Many families choose Navratri, but customs vary. Your pandit can suggest muhurat options. Your family's custom takes priority.

Duration to be confirmed with the pandit; listed timings are about 2 hours (standard) and 1 hour (extended).

Choose 'With samagri' and the pandit brings the ritual items. Choose 'Own samagri' if you already have them or prefer to buy them yourself.
