A long graha shanti ritual is a big undertaking: four pandits, a very long list of items and several hours of recitation. We handle the coordination, so you can take part without managing every detail.
Why it is done
Rahu is one of the nine grahas in Vedic astrology. A Rahu shanti is a traditional ritual with prayers, a lengthy mantra recitation, a havan and daan. Many families choose it when their astrologer suggests it. It is a traditional practice, not a guaranteed remedy.
Who it is for
Families whose astrologer has suggested a Rahu shanti; people who want a fuller graha ritual at home; households who follow the practice as a family custom.
When to do it
Timing is usually chosen from the chart and the panchang, and some families prefer a Saturday or a particular tithi. Please ask your astrologer. The pandit can suggest muhurat options, and your family's custom takes priority.
Choose your ceremony
About 4 hours for the standard ceremony; about 6 hours for the extended one
- Standard: The standard ceremony: about 4 hours with four pandits and 23 vidhi steps. It covers sankalp, Ganesh and kalash worship, Navagraha and Shiva worship, mantra recitation and a havan.
- Extended: The extended ceremony: about 6 hours with four pandits and 34 vidhi steps. It adds more rituals and a longer recitation. The pandit confirms what is included and the recitation counts.
If your astrologer has not specified a format, start with the standard. If a larger recitation or a fuller vidhi was advised, choose the extended.
Choose 'With samagri' and the pandit brings the ritual items. Choose 'Own samagri' if you already have them or prefer to buy them yourself. With a long vidhi, the list is long, so ask the pandit for the list early if you arrange items yourself.
Video option
Video may be possible for Rahu Dosh Nivaran Puja, but because of its length or format it needs confirming before you book. Tell us your date and we will check with the pandit.

Your tradition
Mantra counts, items and daan differ by tradition and astrologer. Tell us your tradition at booking.
Safety
Havan and diyas involve an open flame. Use a stable heat-safe surface, keep the space ventilated, keep water nearby, and keep flames away from curtains, children and pets. Follow your building's rules on havan in common areas. Because this is a long sitting, take breaks and keep water handy.
